This service takes a person-centred approach with a systemic lens, meaning sessions focus not just on individual thoughts and feelings but on the patterns, roles, and communication that shape a couple or family as a whole. Rather than treating one person as "the problem," systemic work looks at how everyone in the relationship contributes to, and is affected by, what's happening.
Sessions are built around communication, relationship repair, and shared goals, whether that's a couple working through a rupture in trust, a family trying to reduce conflict at home, or parents and children stuck in a repeating pattern neither side knows how to break. The aim is to help everyone involved feel heard, understand each other's position more clearly, and leave with practical ways of relating that they can carry forward outside the session.
This option is delivered face to face at the Beckenham practice, for those who want the added presence and containment of working through difficult relational material in person.
This service offers the same relational focus as face-to-face Couple / Family Therapy, but draws on a broader integrative toolkit, combining psychodynamic, CBT, Internal Family Systems, Jungian, and attachment-based approaches. Rather than applying one fixed model, Kevin tailors the approach session by session to what the couple or family actually needs: sometimes that means working with unconscious patterns and early attachment experiences, sometimes it means practical, present-focused strategies for managing conflict or anxiety.
This flexibility makes it well suited to a wide range of situations, from couples working through a specific disagreement to families dealing with longer-standing dynamics rooted in early relationships or inherited patterns of behaviour.
Delivered via video call, this option is for clients who prefer or need remote sessions, whether that's because family members are in different locations, travel isn't practical, or video simply suits the family better.
This is an extended version of family therapy, designed specifically for larger families of four or more. With more people in the room, sessions naturally need more time and space, both to make sure every family member has the chance to speak and be heard, and to properly work through the more complex web of relationships, alliances, and communication patterns that larger families often bring.
Extend sessions are particularly suited to families managing multiple, overlapping difficulties at once, such as sibling conflict alongside parent-child tension, blended or step-family dynamics, or situations where extended family members are closely involved in day-to-day life. The additional 30 minutes gives Kevin room to work with the family as a system without rushing any one voice or issue.
This option is delivered face to face at the Beckenham practice.
This offers the same extended 90 minute format as Family Therapy Extend, for families of four or more, but delivered via video call rather than in person. It's designed for families who need the additional time that comes with a larger group, but for whom travelling to a single physical location isn't possible or practical, whether due to geography, family members living apart, or simply a preference for meeting remotely.
The video format doesn't change the depth of the work: the same attention to each family member's voice, and the same systemic approach to understanding how the family functions as a whole, is maintained across the call. It's a practical option for larger families who still want unhurried, comprehensive support.
This option is delivered via video call, for clients who prefer or need remote sessions.
