  • Therapeutic Consultancy for Parents

The Check In

Mobile support that provides skillful conversation.

An online 25 minute focused session for adults, young people, and parents who want professional psychological support, advice or assistance to organise thoughts without committing to full weekly therapy. You don't need to be in crisis, know exactly what you need, or wait until things get worse, sometimes the most useful first step is simply to check in.

The Check In works with the everyday: stress, anxiety, relationship or family difficulties, low confidence, feeling stuck; young people navigating friendships, school, or family changes; and parents wanting a confidential space to think through their child's behaviour or their own response to a difficult situation. Drawing on the same person-centred, CBT, systemic, Jungian, and Internal Family Systems approaches as Kevin's other work, sessions aim to leave you with clarity and a clear next step, not a diagnosis or a decision made for you.

One Check In: A single 25 minute session. Ideal for a specific issue, exploration or to try the service before committing to a subscription. £55 for the session

The Check In Monthly: Two 25 minute sessions each month. A flexible way to maintain regular access to professional support without weekly therapy. £99 per month.

The Check In Plus: Four 25 minute sessions each month. For people who want consistent, regular professional support. £189 per month.

Individual Therapy

One-to-one therapy to understand yourself, work through difficulties and create change.

Kevin offers individual therapy sessions for adults and young people dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity, performance pressure, relationship difficulties, grief, and trauma. Sessions are tailored to the person, drawing on systemic, psychodynamic, CBT-informed, or trauma-focused approaches depending on individual needs.

Kevin has achieved particularly strong outcomes working with young people who are SEND, school refusers, or risk of gang involvement, populations that often disengage from traditional clinical settings. His background as a former professional footballer and his understanding of street culture give him a credibility with these groups that most therapists cannot offer.

Face to Face Individual Therapy: In-person weekly 50 minute sessions for adults and young people ready to work through anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, or relationship difficulties, in a dedicated therapeutic space in the Beckenham Beacon NHS Health Centre, Croydon Road, Beckenham, BR3 3QL. £110 per session.

Online Individual Therapy: The same individual 50 minute therapy sessions by video call, ideal if you prefer the flexibility of home or are based outside London. £110 per session.

Couples Therapy and Family Therapy

A structured space to understand each other, improve communication and work through difficulties together.

Support for Couples and Relationships

Kevin works with couples experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, relationship breakdown, loss of trust, or significant changes within their relationship. His systemic approach looks beyond individual difficulties to understand the patterns between partners and the wider experiences, circumstances and relationships that may be affecting the couple.

Couples therapy provides a structured and confidential space to understand each other more clearly, explore recurring patterns, improve communication, rebuild trust and consider how the relationship can move forward. Kevin works with couples at different stages of their relationships, including those wanting to strengthen an established relationship, navigate a period of difficulty, or better understand whether and how to move forward together.

Sessions are available for couples in London and online across the UK.

Family Therapy - Support for Families and Family Relationships

Kevin works with families navigating separation, co-parenting, conflict between parents and children, communication difficulties and wider systemic challenges affecting the whole family unit. He draws on extensive experience working with families in private law settings, as well as broader mental health, safeguarding and family support services.

Kevin's family therapy experience includes working with families in private practice, project management of Place2Be's mental health interventions for families, and working within private law proceedings alongside CAFCASS, guardians, CAMHS, social workers and the family courts.

This experience gives him particular insight into supporting families where relationships are under legal or safeguarding scrutiny, as well as families who simply want to repair communication, strengthen relationships and rebuild trust.

Family therapy can support families experiencing separation, blended family difficulties, parent-child conflict, co-parenting challenges, changes in family circumstances or difficulties that have become entrenched over time. The focus is on understanding the relationships and patterns within the family and creating practical ways for family members to communicate and relate differently.

Flexible Family Therapy Sessions

Family sessions can involve the whole family together, parents alone, or a combination of both, depending on the circumstances and what is most appropriate. Sessions are tailored to the needs of the family rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Family Therapy Extend

For families of four or more, or where family relationships and circumstances are particularly complex, Family Therapy Extend provides additional time to work through what is happening.

The extended session allows more space for each family member to be heard, explore different perspectives and understand the patterns within the family. It can be particularly helpful where there are multiple relationships, significant conflict, separation or co-parenting difficulties, or several issues that need to be explored within the same session.

Family therapy is available in London and online across the UK.

Face to Face Couple/Family Therapy, 50 minutes: In-person sessions bringing partners or family members together to repair communication and work through conflict with support in the room. Therapeutic Consultancy for Parents

What do you do when your child won't talk to a therapist?

When a child or teenager refuses therapy, withdraws, avoids school, or communicates distress through behaviour rather than words, parents can often feel unsure about what to do next.

Therapeutic Consultancy for Parents provides a professional, practical space for parents and carers to understand what may be happening for their child and consider what they can do differently. The initial consultation takes place with you, not your child, helping you make sense of behaviour, communication, family dynamics, school difficulties and other factors affecting your child's wellbeing.

Kevin draws on therapeutic, systemic and psychological approaches, alongside extensive experience in family therapy, SEND, education, safeguarding and working with young people who can be difficult to engage through traditional support.

Parent Consultation: A 50 minute focused one-to-one consultation for parents whose child is struggling, withdrawing, displaying anti social behaviours/at risk of gangs, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), or refusing therapy, providing professional insight and practical strategies for what to do next.

Parent Strategy Consultation: An extended consultation (90 minutes) for more complex situations involving multiple factors such as SEND, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), family conflict or emotional distress, providing more time to understand what is happening and develop practical next steps.

What is Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)? Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is when a child finds it very difficult or impossible to attend school because of emotional distress, most often anxiety. It is not a formal diagnosis. Unlike truancy, the child usually wants to attend and parents know where they are. Early understanding and support lead to better outcomes.

The best structure is this short answer first, with the fuller explanation from my earlier draft directly beneath it (or as a longer post on your blog that the FAQ links to). That gives AI tools a clean extract and gives parents the detail they need. The therapy question from the earlier draft works well as a second FAQ entry.

How can therapy help a child or family experiencing EBSA? Kevin George works with young people and parents to understand what school attendance means for the child, what their distress is communicating, and what is keeping the pattern in place across the child, the family and the school. Kevin has extensive experience in SEND education and with young people who have disengaged from traditional support. If your child is not ready to talk to a therapist, a Parent Consultation or Parent Strategy Consultation gives you a space to make sense of what is happening and plan practical next steps without your child needing to attend. Individual therapy and family therapy are also available in Beckenham, London Victoria and online.
